A perfect way to begin your day

Posted by: fasean on: June 30, 2009

Previously, on a fashion passion…

But if he had, just if he had had a nightmare about Susan, he would have wished that there would have been a better way to start a day, other than waking up. Then that would have made a better day if not a perfect one.

And what would be a perfect way to begin a day, other than waking up?

Forget sleep walking, can you imagine, waking up coming later after doing some chores? Well,  mankind is yet to discover/invent one.

Matt thought about inventing one, for a rainy day, but ideas in his head created a labyrinth. He had to drop the thought just to get through his day.

Only if we could live outside our bodies, then, maybe then, we could devise a perfect way to begin a day. But fashion would lose its essence in our lives.

Susan is a fashionable belle, for her sake Matt would not want to do that.

Betty’s shawlettes

Hand-crocheted from handspun, hand-dyed cotton, Bettys’s shawlettes are one of a kind, authentically crafted with a personal touch.

“Are they scarves or shawlettes?” asks Betty. The good thing is that no one cares, because they are fun accessories for dress ups or casual goings.

An unfinished piece of art on display

Previously, on a fashion passion…

Matt rarely had dreams and when he did, they were always hard to remember.

If he would have dreamt about Susan, it might have been a nightmare. But if he had…

Her hair was lustrous. It had a shiny glow to it, and it flowed as she walked down the street. It was difficult to tell its original color. Nonetheless, it was evident that hairspray had been used. Lots of it. From a close, it smelt like cheap liquor, with a somewhat pleasant smell. Up close, you might have gotten tipsy.

Make up on her face lit like graffiti on a dirty wall on a poorly lit street. She had a base color, then a cheekbone highlighter, then some filler powder. A dark shade for an eyeliner and a flirty lipstick. On a closer look, she looked like a landfill that was being reclaimed and so much in need of landscaping.

Like a lady going to a board meeting, she was dressed in a blue suit, a white blouse and black shoes. The top three buttons of her blouse were undone. Very formal indeed. Like most other makeup wearers, she had not cared to put graffiti to her neck and upper chest to match the tone of her face. Up close, it looked like an unfinished piece.

It was not clear why the artist had released an unfinished piece but like every other  piece on display, it could be judged.

Luckily, Matt rarely dreamt, and even better not about Susan. He did not have to pass judgment on her, at least not yet

High on heels

High on heels

High on heels;

They say that clear heels are a tourist attraction. On the other hand, red carpets and high heels are an attraction for the paparazzi; they just can’t afford to hide their ogle for fashion.

Workplace dresscode

Posted by: fasean on: June 22, 2009

More often than not, experts, and those that you refer to as shrinks almost trick you into believing anything. And sometimes, they could actually be right.

Experts’ advice for working clothes; no one should be able to see over, under or through your clothes, it’s not about how much you spend, but how well a garment is fitted. And if you would wear it to the beach, the bar or to bed, it doesn’t belong in your work wardrobe.

work place dresscode

This sort of defines a perfect work place dresscode whereby your way of dressing does not affect your co-workers, customers and other parties. Moreover, it helps boost a company’s image.

Of course you know what others are not supposed to see. But then again, it depends with the kind of profession you are into. And for those working from home, it might be difficult to observe an official dresscode especially when you’ve got no company.

Her stuff was all over!

Posted by: fasean on: June 17, 2009

Previously, on a fashion passion…

The day after the previous one was better. Susan was gleeful, she was going shopping. Again. Matt was going to work, and even he was in high spirits.

Like birds happy for the morning, they chirped through breakfast. Their first in days. Matt was not a breakfast person. Over the weekend, they had got up after ten in the morning. And thus whatever they had had was more of an early lunch than a late breakfast.

She did not indulge in shopping sprees but for once Susan felt the need to. She was fussy, but even today, it was easy to get what she wanted. And at times what appealed to her even if she had not planned for it.

On coming home, Matt was surprised to find her stuff all over. It looked as though she was getting ready to move in while she was actually going to leave in two days. She was not even in a hurry pack up. Or had she changed her mind? Matt wondered.

In his shirt and a new skirt, she ambled around the house flaunting at him, with a wine glass half empty. She even had a new hairstyle, a sleek one.

Her stuff was all over!

Filled with purchases, others empty, tote bags littered the floor. Two pairs of shoes; checked flats and classic black pumps were carelessly placed on the bed. On the other side of the bed lay several panties, strings, tights and bras.

Obviously, she had just retried her purchases for the second, or the third or even the tenth time and was too tired to put everything back in place.

Matt was puzzled, but he was warming up to this side of Susan.

They spent the idyll evening indoors and without even caring to put things away, like soldiers awaiting a disbandment, cherishing the final moments.

The pullout was going to be difficult and would need more man power.

Sheets of metallic film are heat-adhered to the nail, then filed into shape. And the result is sleek, slightly androidy, and incredibly cool-looking.

To fashion reality shows, fashion is personal

Posted by: fasean on: June 11, 2009

Fashion makeover TV Shows are gradually becoming popular. A typical show features a person who ‘lacks’ (or is thought to lack) a great taste for fashion, and some fashion knowledgeable people whose job is to make the amateur go pro.

Even mix and match do the trick

Even a simple mix and match can do the trick

Somehow, I feel that as much as people can or do suggest what is right or appropriate for you, and especially in fashion, you are the only one who can make a choice that is most likely to be satisfying in the long run. This is due to the fact that you know your self better.

Your taste and preference no matter how primitive they may seem, define your personality and uniquely identify you.

So for anyone who attentively follows any show of the kind, don’t be limited by the ideas that they give. Moreover, don’t be a copycat; feel free to experiment and explore.

With drinks, they tell you to obey your thirst, with fashion, naturally, you would obey your style.

fashionogle:[verb] to look at someone with an obvious fashion passion.

Quote of the day

Fashion is architecture. It is a matter of proportions. "
